Built through partnerships with Meat & Livestock Australia and Queensland University of Technology, and grounded in extensive pasture research from national soil carbon programs, Agrimix Flux has been tested under Australian grazing conditions and published in peer-reviewed literature.
Our Measure Model Verify (MMV) approach means that through calibrated modelling and on-farm data you can measure and improve your soil, building it as an asset. Producers can now see what management changes are actually doing in real time, make better decisions sooner, and build a clearer picture of productivity and soil carbon performance over time.

What is Agrimix Flux?
Agrimix Flux is a decision-support toolkit that helps landholders, project developers and supply chains understand how pasture management decisions influence productivity and soil carbon outcomes. It uses a three-step Measure, Model and Verify approach, combining field data from flux towers with ecosystem process modelling to quantify soil carbon change at paddock level. Agrimix Flux can support ACCU projects, insetting, supply chain reporting and mandatory climate-related financial disclosure by providing evidence-based soil carbon insights for Australian grazing systems.

What is a flux tower and how does it work?
A flux tower is a field-based monitoring system that continuously measures the exchange of gases, energy and water between the land surface and the atmosphere, helping researchers understand whether a paddock, pasture or ecosystem is taking up more carbon than it releases. Using a method called eddy covariance, flux towers provide real-world data on carbon dioxide movement, plant growth, soil respiration and water use over time. Agrimix uses flux tower data to calibrate and validate its soil carbon model for Australian grazing systems, including management practices such as Progardes Desmanthus, so our modelling reflects what is actually happening in Australian paddocks.
What properties and regions is Agrimix Flux suited to?
Agrimix Flux is currently calibrated and validated for the Brigalow bioregion, making it well suited to grazing properties in that region that want to monitor soil carbon, pasture productivity and the impact of management decisions over time. Next, Agrimix will be validating Flux in New South Wales. The toolkit is suited to landholders and organisations wanting robust evidence of carbon and productivity outcomes, whether for a registered Clean Energy Regulator soil carbon project, supply chain reporting, insetting, or general productivity monitoring and decision-making.
Can Agrimix Flux generate carbon credits?
Agrimix Flux is designed for generating Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) and is also suited to the voluntary carbon schemes (E.g., Verra). It produces traceable, audit-ready evidence of soil carbon stock change at paddock level. Speak with the team about how this applies to your business.
How does Agrimix Flux relate to Progardes® Desmanthus?
Agrimix Flux is directly linked to Agrimix’s research into Progardes® Desmanthus and its ability to sequester soil carbon in Australian grazing systems. Using on-farm data, flux tower measurements and ecosystem process modelling, the toolkit provides the first soil carbon model calibrated for Progardes Desmanthus plantings. This helps landholders understand how Progardes may contribute to soil carbon outcomes, pasture productivity and long-term grazing system performance.
Is Agrimix Flux available for wool producers?
Yes. Agrimix Flux is being extended for wool producers through Agrimix’s project with Australian Wool Innovation, supporting the development and validation of the toolkit for grazing systems relevant to the wool industry. Agrimix Flux is designed for producers who want to monitor soil carbon, pasture productivity and the impact of management decisions over time, whether for productivity insights, supply chain evidence, insetting, or carbon project purposes. The toolkit is currently calibrated and validated for the Brigalow bioregion, with the next stage focused on validation in New South Wales, including systems relevant to wool-growing enterprises.
