Get to Know the Agrimix Team

Chloe Kempe, Brand and Research Program Manager

If Agrimix was a spaceship, then Chloe would be Mission Control. She organises the processes and activities of the business and ensuring the best client and partnership experiences. Chloe’s been with us from the very beginning, when Agrimix was just a research project, and has been integral in the growth and success of the company.

Chloe, can you tell us a bit about your career background?

I graduated from Queensland University of Technology with degrees in Behavioural Science and Creative Industries.

After living overseas for a while I joined my dad, Nick Kempe, at Agrimix. This was before Progardes® hit the commercial market so I’ve been a part of the whole journey to commercialise Progardes® Desmanthus for northern Australian producers.

In the very early days I would pack off small bags of Progardes® in cardboard boxes on the Greyhound bus heading out of Brisbane. So it’s incredible to have witnessed the growth, with over 180,000 hectares now sown to Progardes® across northern Australia.

I’m proud of what we’ve achieved as a team – not just here at Agrimix, but also across our wider network with JCU, CSIRO, QUT, industry partners and seed supply chain partners.

What motivates you?

Collaborating with a diverse team of researchers, industry, and producers towards a common goal. And plants, I love plants!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love the challenge that comes with innovation and the execution of ideas. I’m constantly learning.  And taking photos of plants!

What did you want to be when you were small?

I really wanted to be a writer. I love books.

I’ve just started a Masters in Business Psychology this year – I’m enjoying researching and writing about innovation and ideas at the moment!

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?

Saturday morning watching the kids at hockey and soccer games followed by a long lunch on the deck with my family – that’s my ideal day off.
