It all starts in the paddock. Learn about some of our fantastic producers and how they have transformed their businesses.

Adam and Jacynta Coffey had a dream to become beef producers and so they purchased a run-down property in Central Queensland.

“We often refer to it as our “little renovator’s delight” – no drinking water, no livestock fences, and an unliveable cottage! Our greatest challenge from the start was removing the plantation trees so that we could re-develop the existing perennial pastures,” says Adam and Jacynta.

Once the trees were gone the Coffeys set about renovating their pasture – their goal was to improve soil health and provide better nutrition for their cattle. With its hardiness and high protein content, Progardes® was the perfect choice for them. None of their alternative legumes are as sought after by cattle as Progardes®.

Now they are working with agronomist Ross Newman to plant more Progardes® in a multi-species mix to get added diversity into their pasture.

The Coffeys are always learning, they are improving their soil health, increasing water holding capacity and getting more carbon into their soil.
