It all starts in the paddock. Learn about some of our fantastic producers and how they have transformed their businesses.

With a dream to become beef producers, we purchased a run-down property in Central Queensland. We often refer to it as our “little renovator’s delight” – no drinking water, no livestock fences, and an unliveable cottage! Our greatest challenge from the start was removing the plantation trees so that we could re-develop the existing perennial pastures.

Once the trees were gone we set about renovating our pasture – our goal was to improve soil health and provide better nutrition for our cattle.  With its hardiness and high protein content, Progardes® was the perfect choice. None of our alternative legumes are as sought after by cattle as Progardes®.

Now we are working with our agronomist Ross Newman to plant more Progardes in a multi-species mix to get added diversity into our pasture.

Although we are always learning, we are improving the soil health, increasing our water holding capacity and getting more carbon into the soil.

We are renovating our pasture with a multi-pasture species mix, building soil carbon and increasing biodiversity.
